Weathering Together Fashion Show

In Fall 2025, The Red Light House presented our “Weathering Together Fashion Show", a wearable art and performance showcase centering climate issues & resilience in North Minneapolis. With the North Mississippi Regional Park as our backdrop, this outdoor fashion show explored the meaning of home through our connection to air and water. What infrastructure and borders are in place to sever these connections? How can the community respond and change in the face of environmental injustice? What signs of resilience can be seen in our day to day?

This work was part of Springboard for the Arts new initiative “Artists Respond: Weathering Together”, a program for artists who live or work in North Minneapolis. We chose to put together a fashion show because clothing tells stories. Clothing is in conversation with society and what is happening in the world. Clothing represents our realities and carries messages. What we choose to say to ourselves and the world around us. We partnered with Oyate Hotanin, Change Narrative, and Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board for this showcase and were joined by many for an evening of live music, spoken word, and a unique runway curated by The Red Light House Collective.
