Queering Cinema Short Film Fest
Kicking off 2026, The Red Light House presented our short film fest, “Queering Cinema”, featuring LGBTQ+ filmmakers in and around the Twin Cities! The first show was held at the Capri Theater in North Minneapolis. We believe that “Queering Cinema” isn’t just about showing films with Queer people in them, but presenting a platform for Queer people to tell their stories, their way. This festival connected Queer filmmakers and Queer audience members alike.
After the screening a short Q&A was held with Ben Taman and Laira Rocha Tenca. They shared about their creative process and answered audience questions. The audience then chose which films they believed to be most impactful, most cinematic, and most experimental.
